Effortlessly identify or configure photographic scenarios — trinity backdrops, headshots, group shots, backlit portraits, autumn landscapes — and have each one trigger its own actions, presets and external services. A backlit portrait gets its shadows lifted while a bright landscape in the same folder gets its highlights recovered. Because the rules read real capture data and image content, you get the consistency of a batch with the judgement of editing each frame by hand.
There's no cap on how much work a single photo receives, and no extra cost for doing more. One image can be cropped, colour corrected, auto straightened, white-balanced, portrait-enhanced, composited and more — all in the same run.
Crucially, these edits combine as layers, so you get the best out of each one rather than flattening them into a compromise. Straighten and white-balance the whole frame, then grade the subject and background separately, then layer a portrait enhancement over the top. Every edit builds on the image the previous edit produced, giving you depth and control that a single preset can never reach.
FocusBatch receives and edits files via FTP in real time. It transcribes voice memos to trigger rulesets, and converts .hif files — which offer better dynamic range at the same file size as JPEGs — so they open cleanly in Photoshop. Once editing is complete you can upload straight to your chosen website, all while still in the field.

Bring your existing Photoshop actions and presets, and create custom actions and functions for tasks like file renaming and uploading. You can also write custom triggers — fire a rule if the filename exceeds 1,000 characters, or if the subject's clothes are green.
There are currently 42 triggers, covering metadata, colours in the image, histogram ranges, subject area in square metres, star ratings and voice-memo information. New triggers and actions are added over time, and you're free to build your own. It's a system that grows with your needs rather than boxing you into a fixed set of moves.
FocusBatch makes masks unlike other AI editing software, enabling both selective and global edits within a single pass. It can isolate the subject, the sky, the background, green vegetation, eye sockets, a left jawline, blue clothes, or red in the sky — and treat each independently.
That precision is what lets one ruleset recover a blown sky while leaving a correctly-exposed subject untouched, or tame a green colour cast bouncing onto skin without shifting the rest of the frame. Combined with region-aware conditions, these masks turn a whole-image batch tool into something that edits each part of a photo on its own terms.
Your camera becomes an editing controller. Use the WB shift grid to place a selection, then record a voice memo to prompt generative AI — handy for lighting a subject on a bright day and removing the light from the frame while filling the background back in, or adding a bunch of flowers for composition.
You can go further: use a metering mode to signal a different lighting or backdrop setup in the studio, or indicate the type of crop you want using the rate button. Decisions you'd normally make at the computer get made behind the camera, in the moment, hands-free.
FocusBatch can improve Adobe's ACR Auto — for example, applying just exposure and highlights to the sky plus a LUT action when the sky is mostly overexposed — so the automatic look serves your intent rather than fighting it.

And a batch log records what passed, what was skipped and why, so you can learn exactly where a run went wrong and refine your rulesets until they behave the way you want.
